Child Safety

Blind safety

In February 2014, legislation was introduced to ensure that all blinds are child-safe when installed in homes to protect babies and children. As a member of the BBSA’s ‘make it safe’ campaign, we are committed to making our customers aware of these risks and how to make sure that their blinds are safe, regardless of the presence or absence of children in your home.

All of our products are fitted with the required safety accessories to minimise the risk of injury. In addition, all of our blinds are supplied with instructions on how to make your blinds safe, as well as the accessories required to do so and you are required to follow these instructions carefully and where necessary ensure that the supplied safety devices are properly fitted.. If you are in any doubt about purchasing a Roller or a Roman blind for any room in your house, you might want to consider using curtains or a blind system without a looped cord mechanism, which we can supply. If you’d like more information on fitting child safe blinds, would like to receive a Free Blind Safety Pack, or would like to discuss your requirements in further detail, please no not hesitate to contact us by email or telephone  on 0141 339 0120 and we will be delighted to help.

The most important safety steps you can take are:

1. To ensure window blind cords and chains are always kept out of reach of babies and small children using the chain/cord tidies or cleats provided with your blind.

2. Keep cots, beds and all furniture away from windows and blinds – remember children love to climb.
